Compagnie Chorégraphique - Marie Desoubeaux

écritures, dramaturgies et composition du corps dansé

This is the study of the space, the emotional and expressive language of space : line, volume, angle,... darkness and light.
This workshop considers and practices the essential nature of the SPACE in which choreography and dance can be made and performed.
It penetrates the themes of radial and cartesian space and how they affect the moving body and the treatrical space where audience and performer meet.

Julyen Hamilton’s teaching investigates deeply the creative act and the technique needed to accompany and facilitate it.

His vision of thecnique is one which observes how things are made, how they function and how knowledge, exeprience and intuition can be used to create the work each need to make.

It naturally enters the worlds of physiology, philosophy, cukture, imagination and the future.

In recent years the composiontional elements of major concern have been time, space, objects, music and the voice; they stem from his experience as a dancer who creates and organises material instantly before the public.

The basic work is the handling of the body and the “speaking” from it in space, motion and time. Its co-ordination and its relationship to the material it creates - and then to the sharing of it in performance.

His ability to distill and convey essential principles allows dancers from a wide range of backgrounds to engage in his methodology.

Julyen Hamilton is a dancer, a choreographer, a poet, a teacher and a musician. His teaching and performances, as well as his stage and movement approaches have been acclaimed in many countries around the world.

The workshop aims mainly to professional or advanced dancers or performers. Please send us a short description of your work and background, as well as a cover letter to presodepres@gmail.com
